Audix DVice Clamp for Microphone Flexible Neck
Description
The DVICE is an easy-to-use, low-profile mounting system that eliminates the need for bulky microphone stands. Easily operated with one hand, the device is provided with a standard 5/8” thread adapter that allows any microphone to be used by simply changing the clip. The provided MC2 clip also fits the Audix D series microphones.
The DVICE works on most hoops, including die-casting and steel. It will provide a nice clean look, especially when used with the Audix right angle XLR microphone cable.
Placement
For best results, place the microphone head about two inches above the drum patch and two inches inside the edge directed towards the center of the drum (usually at an angle of about 45 degrees). The cover photo is a good example. of this position. Depending on the size and type of microphone used, the height of the metal gooseneck may need to be adjusted. Simply loosen the nut wing on the side of the clip and move the gooseneck to the proper position, then tighten. The gooseneck can also be tilted in any direction to help you achieve the correct position.
The microphone placement is not an exact science, it depends on the instrument, the player's style, the type of music, the volume of the music, the acoustics of the room, the sound system, the engineer and, of course, the microphone itself.
